Emily Keeton, CEBS, SHRM-CP
CEBS Certified Employee Benefit Specialist The CEBS is one of the most rigorous credentials in the benefits industry — it takes years of study across group benefits, retirement plans, HR, and compensation. When you work with a CEBS-designated agent, you're working with someone who knows the full picture of employee benefits, not just insurance products. For small business owners, that depth of knowledge means smarter recommendations and real strategic guidance. Learn more about CEBS → SHRM-CP SHRM Certified Professional The SHRM-CP is a nationally recognized HR certification from the Society for Human Resource Management. It means I understand how benefits fit into the broader picture of attracting, retaining, and supporting employees — not just as paperwork, but as part of how you take care of your people. For employers, this means I can help you think through your benefits strategy in a way that actually works for your people. Learn more about SHRM-CP → FL Licensed Agent Florida Licensed Insurance Agent I hold an active Florida 2-15 Health, Life & Annuity license, as well as a licensed agency registration. Independent What "Independent" Really Means Being independent means I'm not captive to any single insurance company — I don't have a quota to meet or a corporate playbook to follow. I'm contracted with multiple carriers, which means I can shop the market on your behalf and recommend what's right for your situation. My loyalty is to you, not to any one company. That's a meaningful difference.
About Emily

A Different Kind of Insurance Agent

I'm Emily Keeton, and I own and operate the Keeton Benefits Agency. I live in Middleton and work right here in my own neighborhood, The Villages, and the surrounding communities. Before I opened my own agency, I spent several years with independent insurance agencies in the Tampa Bay area.

For several years, I had the honor of working for Jack Fessler, founder of The Fessler Agency in Clearwater. He did life with his clients. He knew their names and the names of their husbands or wives and kids. And while he loved to tell you all about his lifetime worth of rich adventures, he cared more to know his clients' and employees' life stories. He built strong relationships with the many insurance carriers we represented, but his clients' needs came first – always. His loyalty was to them. If you talk to me long enough, you'll hear me say his name.

We lost Jack in 2021, and I moved to a larger insurance agency the following year for the growth opportunities it could offer. I was blessed with an excellent leader there as well (love you, Denise!), but working for Jack changed my life. I'm not him, but I would be honored to know and serve you as your insurance agent and (as I earn your trust) your friend.

I hold the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation and am a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP). Those come from years of focus on employee benefits and the decisions that come with them. I continue to serve small businesses and their employees, and I also now focus on helping Medicare beneficiaries and other individuals and families as well. My mom was my first Medicare beneficiary, and I'll care for you as I do her.

I will treat you like you matter, because you do.

👨‍👩‍👧

Other Individuals & Families

Life, disability & supplemental coverage

I help individuals and families step back and look at what they actually need, then find the products that solve a real problem or fill a gap. Much of this is life and supplemental coverage that protects your income and the people who count on you. I can also guide you through your medical options when you need that, but the focus here is the bigger picture of protecting your family.

  • Term, whole & permanent life insurance
  • Disability income (short & long term)
  • Long-term care insurance
  • Critical illness, cancer & hospital indemnity
  • Accident & gap coverage
  • Individual dental & vision
  • Annuities, when appropriate
  • Individual major medical guidance, when you need it
  • Additional coverages where needed (pet, telehealth, identity theft, and more)
Important Medicare Notice: We do not offer every plan available in your area. Currently, we represent a limited number of organizations which offer Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plans. Please contact Medicare.gov, 1-800-MEDICARE, or your local State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) to get information on all of your options.
What to expect

Independent. Personal. Ongoing.

Here's what working with me looks like. It's the same whether you're new to Medicare, a business owner, or just trying to cover your family.

1

We talk first

Before anything else, I want to understand your situation. Your needs, your concerns, your budget, and what matters most to you. When you reach out, you reach me, not a call center.

2

I shop the market for you

Because I'm independent, I gather quotes from several trusted carriers and thoroughly compare them. I send you my recommendations.

3

You decide

I'll lay out your choices in plain language and answer every question. The decision is yours, and I'll make sure you feel clear about what you're choosing.

4

I stay with you

Enrolling is the beginning, not the end. I follow up to make sure you're happy, I'm here when questions come up, and every year I check that your plan still meets your needs.

FAQ

When I call, who answers?+
I do. When you call or text, you get me, not a call center and not a team you've never met. If I can't pick up right then, I'll call you back myself.
Does it cost anything to work with you?+
No. You don't pay me anything for my help, and you won't pay more for your plan by working with me than you would on your own.
Are you tied to one insurance company?+
No. I'm an independent agent, so I'm not locked into a single carrier. I gather quotes from several companies, look them over, and bring you the ones that best meet your needs.
It's just you. Do you have the resources of a bigger agency?+
It's me you'll always talk to, but I'm not doing this alone. I have additional team support behind me, so I have access to the same carriers and resources the larger agencies do.
Do we have to meet in person?+
Only if you'd like to. We can sit down together or handle everything by phone, whichever is easier for you. Either way, I'll take the time to understand your situation before I recommend anything.
I'm turning 65 but still working. Do I need to do anything yet?+
It's worth a conversation. There are a few things to think through when you reach 65 and you're still on an employer's plan, and the right move depends on your situation. Reach out and we'll work through it together.
What happens after I enroll?+
I stay with you. I follow up to make sure you're happy, I'm the one you reach when a question or a problem comes up, and I check back regularly to make sure your plan still meets your needs as life changes.
